The American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri Foundation, Inc., (ACLU-MO) seeks a part-time grant funded Communications Intern for Summer 2025. The Communications Intern will be assigned to our Communications Department and work collaboratively across departments to assist in the design, layout, development, and promotion of the School-to-Prison Pipeline (STPP) Findings and Recommendations Report and help promote the STPP culminating event to the community at large.

POSITION OVERVIEW: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Communications and in collaboration with the Integrated Advocacy Team, the Communications Intern will:
- Assist with writing and editing report content for clarity and impact.
- Plan and develop a content calendar and content (emails, social media posts, press releases, blog posts, etc.) to build public interest and education leading up to and following the release of the Findings and Recommendations Report
- Partner with the Communications Team and Organizing Intern on STPP project related needs.
In addition to the above responsibilities, other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate work in communications, journalism, digital media, or relevant area of study.
- Computer literacy, knowledge and ability to proficiently use software and hardware such as Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Canva, and internet research.
- Proficiency with social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, BlueSky, X, Threads, etc.)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills, listening skills, ability to solve problems, adapt to change, and empathy for others are required as this position works in teams and within communities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

COMPENSATION AND TERMS
This is a part-time, temporary, non-exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act. This internship is grant funded and the pay is $18 per hour/20 hours per week.
