Anni Dineen joined the ACLU of Missouri in June of 2023 as an Intern for the Hayti Project Data Team. Her role will assisting in the research and development of restorative justice practices in schools, exploring the economic impact of the school-to-prison-pipeline, supporting the analysis and expansion of the Data Team’s existing work, and more.

Anni graduated with a Bachelor’s of Social Work from Creighton University in 2021 and will receive her Master’s in Social Work (MSW) and Master’s in Social Policy from the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis in August of 2023. She holds a certificate in Planning and Zoning from University of Missouri: St. Louis. Her MSW concentrated on domestic social and economic development, and she has a vested interest in community development that focuses on bolstering the inherent power of communities facing challenges related to their built environment to create neighborhoods that allow all residents to thrive, not simply survive.

She has previously worked as a Case Manager for older adults experiencing homelessness in Omaha, Nebraska. She also worked as Social Emotional Mentor at three schools in the St. Louis Metro Area with a caseload of 21 students aged 1st-6th grade, where she saw the disproportionate impact of zero-tolerance policies. Her most recent work has been with a St. Louis Metro Area municipality doing community development work in the Economic Development Department.

In her spare time, she enjoys tending to her houseplants and native pollinator garden and spending time with her three pets, Jan, Brad, and Candi.
